Last night was our final concert of the acedemic year. We sang Brahms Romantic Watlzes, the chamber choir did some popus stuff and the orchestra played Mendlesons Italian Symothony. No more organised singing for me now until next year (2004/2005) unless I run a camp fire or two during the summer.

I'm back to the 'pool' a week tomorrow and I am looking forward to it. I just need to make it though this week.

Went out on Thursday night. Enjoyed lots of dancing although very little drinking due to lack of funds. I got very confused with one of my friends coz I thought he was gay but apparently he isn't... I still don't understand. Don't worry it wasn't me that discovered this put one of my other friends who was very drunk!

Did you know that Perth is the most sought after location in the UK to live?! And it has spent £34 million on flood defences!

This weekend, I am going to be singing in the Cathedral, writing a dissertation proposal and writing about Perth's flood defernces. Exciting 'Ay?!

Last night I did Karaoke when I wasn't drunk... I am brave, apart from not being able to hear what I was singing it was fun, I did Carly Simons "You're so vain." I also managed to not be re-elected on the the equestrian club commitee, thank goodness, it was just too much like hard work. I have said though that I will lend a hand when I am needed.

My flat now has a linked fire alarm system and fire extinguishires and signs telling us where the fire exit is! How exciting!

Cricket Club won "most progressive club" at the Blues and Colours. I am glad I din't pay for my ticket as the meal was not worth £30! Had a good evening, there was 7 of us from the cricket club and 3 from the equestrain. As a result, next year, I am going to be womans cricket liason officer (or something like that), and we are going to have a separate training night and we are going to get Micheal Jackson to coach us. I am going to put my food down and say that the "ladies" club isn't an oppertunitiy for the Boys to get easy shags, coz it won't work!!!!!!

In the interest of my further education, I attended a meeting with my flat mate on Wednesday evening entitled: "The Prophet and the Messiah: we come to serve mankind." This was supposed to be a Muslim Christian Interfaith Dialogue, unfurtunatey, 70% of the audience were muslim and there wasn't so much of dialogue going on but preaching. There was a question and answer session at the end, and I had a really good question to ask but the thought of being chased out of Dundee my angry Christians and Muslim put we off. If I had had the courage I would have asked "but what if neither Mohammed of Jesus really lived, how would mankind be served then?"

For the last four days I have been watching and listening as the Marid Bombing story has unfolded. From the first I heard of it at 08:10 on Thursday morning on the Today program, I realised it was too big to be ETA. Lets hope the citizans of Spain aren't put off and go out and vote today!

I wonder if Vadimir Putin will get a second term as president of Russia. Watching from a distance his policies seem to becoming more and more similar to those of the CCCP only this time capitalism is at the heart of it and not Stalin.

Tonight, there is going to be a Slave auction, which I have helped to organise. Fingers crossed that we make lots of money.

Quick film review:
Mona Lisa Smile: nice story with positive ending with some feminism thrown in.
Big Fish: Very good story with excellent acting.

Over the past month, I haven't been at my greatest. I have had to deal with the death of someone I had known all my life who was younger than me and the circumstances surrounding the death. I have realised though that dealth is the next step in your life (especially to the religous amongst us) and it can also be the bravest deed you carry out in the whole of your life.

Like death, birth is a step and I am glad to say I will have another small friend to play with from the end of July as one of my friends is expecting her first child.

I will right more and more interesting stuff when I am feeling less crap.

Thanks to Simon for finding the European quiz, here are my results:
"You are descended from Napoleon. You see no national boundaries and sweep freely across the continent. You are so European, if you had a pond, you would give your neighbours generous quotas to fish in it. You are probably whistling the Ode to Joy right now."

I went on a field trip yesterday to look at some birds but they had all go coz it was soooooo cold ;-) Oh well.

Last night was the sports unions AGM. There has been some trouble over the past few weeks regarding constitutions and stuff like that and it all came to a head last night when it turned out the the constitution written in 1998 had never been accepted by the Universities governing bodies and so didn't count. There were some very angry and pissed off people last night people last. I help to stir the situation up by asking a very simple question "would person X who was standing for president consider banning clubs from having initiation ceromonies as they shouldn't be relevent in this age of equall oppertunities?" avid readers of the national press may recall that a student at Dundee Uni was reported to have stolen a car as part of the rugby clubs initiation. Person X is the president of the rugby club, he replied "no, I think it is up to the clubs to decide and that it is a good bonding exercise." So I said "surely a good social evening is just a good a way of getting to know each other and that as many nation organisations and associations have band initiations and the it is the predident of the SUs job to protect the university and the SU from bad publisity." His reply was "well I will take it to the clubs council and they can vote on it." It was so funny, the back tracking that this bloke did... If I am not careful I will get a reputaion like my dad fo causing trouble. Today I went into the SU office and got congratulated by five people on how good a question I asked and how I didn't just take his first answer and be done with it.... Yey for Amy.

Got a another one of the princess diaries books, this one was how to be a princess. The bit about dating was most amusing, will find some time to put it on here.
