The Life and Times of Me

Exam 1 of 2 was dead hard and my brain hurt as a result of it (luckily I only need to get about 10% to pass the modual). I am hoping to have done ok, especially since I did no studying since Wednesday lunch time (due to walking around in a daze).
I have found the "how to run a 24 hour cricket match" it was under my essay pile.
1. The person in charge should lead from the front and be willing to show that they are in charge (not wimp out and do a 3 hour security stunt).
2. Don't upset the people doing the catering...
3. Don't let the token "proffessional" get their own way.
4. Have 3 hour periods of play (1hr 25mins for each team to bat) not a set number of overs (coz they run out and people get bored).
5. You need atleast 20 people at anyone time (16 to play, 1 to score, 1 or 2 to umpire and 1 or 2 to provide nurishment).
6. If people "need" to sleep, make it a maximum of one game period.
They are my words of wisdom.
Was out last night with Charlene and Polly, my lovely cricket boys and some of their GF. I didn't get drunk (that may shock you, only had 4 pints over about 5 hours...).

Sometimes, life reaches new levels of not fairness. Today I think I am at one of the worst levels of not fairness I have every been at. Despite the fact that I have an exam on friday afternoon, which arguably will effect my future, it is looking very insignificant compared to things that are going on. I am sorry that this is all a little vague, but it is not my place to say anything. I am just venting my fruststration and no doubt people will find out soon enough.
In the mean time, when I find the bit of paper I wrote it on, how to run a 24hr cricket match...

Achievment of the day: eating a whole box of Tesco's Melon Slice Selection in one sitting. I didnt think I was capable of eating a whole melon in one go and thats why I brought the box, maybe next time I will be buying a melon. Very yummy it was too.
Revision is sooo boring, but it has to be done I suppose.
On Friday night I am cooking for the cricket committee (we are having a money counting session). I am planning on this to be a chance to seduce a certain young man (who may be wearing a blue tie in one of them there pictures below). How does Shepherds pie sound?!

The 24 hr cricket has been and gone. When I have caught up on me sleep and revision and sorted out me brain, I will tell all...

The Election is called
I am back in Dundee. It is very unexciting so far. I had a committee meeting for the 24hr which wasnt that productive. I have a feeling that next week will be very hectic.
The few days at home were nice, although not long enough. I am not sure if I'll get home before graduation. On the job front I am applying to one with the British Oceanographic Data Centre, which could be a good start.
Next three weeks will be given over to revision, with some 24hr stuff and driving lessons and seeing friends thrown in for good measure.
I better get to bed now. Need to get up to start the revision tomorrow.

Forgot to mention. I am home for an Easter break (only 5 days and then back up to Dundee). Me dad gave me my birthday present yesterday, a bow saw. I am well impressed.
The past two weeks have been a little weird (at least in side my head they have), hopefully everything is back on track and I can return to some sort normality (well normal for me anyhow).
Over the past year there as been a quiet revolutions occuring in the world of trains. Firstly is the upgrading of the on train ticket machines (which the guards use) to new fandabulus ones which apparently can issue over 200 different types of tickets (according to rail magazine (yes that is a bit sad for me to have read it but I can't help my brother and father having such things)). The second and most annoying thing is that rail companies (not all of them yet) have introduced a rule saying that if get on a train with out a ticket (for what ever reason) and you have to buy a ticket from the guard, you can no longer use your rail card (of any sort) and have to buy a full price ticket, it goes further, you can't even buy a "saver return" (the sort that you have a month to use) you have to buy an "open return", so say if I was traveling from Dundee to Liverpool and got on a train with out a ticket, I would have to buy a ticket for GBP 105.50 rather than the next cheapest which is GBP 81.50. The saver return with a YP railcard only costs me GBP 45.50... This ploy by rail companies to make more money might just back fire on them. They are likely to lose the walk on market, the people who aren't organised enough in advance to buy a ticket and don't turn up at a station in time to buy a ticket.
I'm glad I got that off me chest. Next rant will be the regeneration of Toxteth in Liverpool (I am sure Micheal Hesteltine was supposed to have dealt with that in the 80's...)
