Going back to the personality thing, I have been wondering if people who are religious are more likely to be extroverts than introverts... Its all to do with the need to please other people and doing because of what other might think rather than what you think.

I think there are plenty of people are religious because it is the thing to do, and church is the place to be seen. Some do it out of a a sense of duty, possibly habit, and maybe to get the approval of others. Of course, many are religious because they believe in all of it and find a sense of order in the world from it. A nice thought.
