The manifesto of Amy
I am very fed up of people complaining about house prices and inheritance tax. From my perspective the two are linked, no one would be worried about increasing the inheritance tax threshold if house prices hadn't race out of control. So I was sort of thinking that maybe a communist collective would be a good idea. And failing that, the government should be trying to do something to control house prices. So my first proposal is that in the UK we should be moving away from selling houses by the number of rooms to selling them by the square meter. Then once that is done there should be a a price set to how much houses should be sold per square meter and that should be linked to inflation or something like like that. Then we would have the absurd thing of London costing ten times more than the rest of the UK. There would be more incentives for people to live outside the southeast and people wouldn't need to have huge mortgages to buy a suitable sized house.
I think I need to get my own soap box!
