I week or so ago, I went onto a well known internet book shop to pre order a copy of Harry Potter 7. This weekend, I made plans around the expected delivery of said book on Saturday morning. I had set aside 2 days to read most of it (finishing it off during the week). I even decided I would go and do the weekly shop on Monday morning (and pick up all those things we need for camp). So Saturday arrived, and I waited and waited and waited. But no book has arrived. The bookshops website says my expected delivery date is Saturday 21st July having been dispatched on the 15th! I am therefore concluding that the stupid flooding has resulted in the lack of delivery (Northleach and Cheltenham have both been under water).

Remembering last time, I decided there would have been no problem getting it from the shops without waiting in for a parcel that wouldn't go through the letterbox.

Finally got to pick mine up on Monday morning ... if I had thought I'd have got my parents to order it at their store and picked up Saturday! Mind you I went in store as I had to use up my book tokens that sister (strangely, I've never been a bookworm) gave me for my birthday.

I'm now up to p35 as I always was one of the slower readers. So its coming to camp (but don't let out the story please!) so Dr T has to wait and read book 6 in the meantime.

As for flodding good news if flooding is finally getting more money, I just hope its for both sea and fluvial flooding. We're still trying to get more money for coastal protection, but it doesn't win votes until something like what has happen in the Severn & Thames valleys occurs (by which time its too late).

I gave in and bought it at Kings Cross WHSmith last Sunday. Along with about a litre of mineral water.
