I like my local MP (Liverpool Walton). However, because we live in a world of Party Politics I didn't vote for him (although I did in 2001) because he was Labour and I am not fond of New Labour (Old Tory) at the moment. My "protest" vote didn't get him unelected (he had a 17,996 majority in 2001) however, there was some swing (3% from Lab to LD) and he has now got a majority of 15,957.
In Dundee things were intersting too. SNP gained the Dundee East seat from Lab with a 1.1% swing. The SNP has a majority of just 383. This seat was seen as one of the key ones to gain for the SNP (and arguably the easiest to win) after the boundry changes of Scotland.
So Labour have a smaller majority, this has got to be a good thing. They may think twice about many of their plans now (or have to rely on the Torys for support). I was hoping for a hung parliment because that would have been very exciting.

I completely agree with your comments: a hung parliament would have been an interesting outcome. Even so, Blair is going to have to tone down some of his outrageous policies - I wonder how long it will be before he goes?
This time next year, otherwise he'll go the same way as John Major w/o all that horrible Edwina Curry crap.
